Single processor systems can use only four of the memory sockets
DIMM Pair 1 - DIMM sockets 1 and 2
DIMM Pair 2 - DIMM sockets 3 and 4
Dual processor systems can use all eight memory sockets
DIMM Pair 1 - DIMM sockets 1 and 2
DIMM Pair 2 - DIMM sockets 7 and 8
DIMM Pair 3 - DIMM sockets 3 and 4
DIMM Pair 4 - DIMM sockets 5 and 6
System maximum is dependent on which part numbers are used: 8GB with the KTM3233 (DDR400), 16GB with the KTM2266 (DDR333).
